Reppin' 3E Love

Do you know about the "International Symbol of Acceptance", aka the "wheelchair-heart logo"? If not, you definitely need to check out 3E Love's website and Facebook page. I saw someone with a wheelchair-heart this summer and loved the logo, but I had no idea where to look for them. When a friend of mine posted about the wheelchair-heart logo on Facebook in September I was hooked.

3E Love says on their website, "The symbol is an attitude and a lifestyle. It's accepting one's abilities and rallying around that diversity and turning it into strength. It's loving and living life to the fullest no matter who you are and what you look like, what you can or cannot do." Photos on their facebook page is full of happy people! No pity abound! Every time I look and the symbol it makes me smile; it's fun, quirky, and reflects the best of disability culture. The 3 E's send the message to embrace, educate, and empower life with a disability.

Even Holden is showing some 3E Love on campus!

Three woofs and all paws up for Facilities Management!

Mom and I had been without power since about 4 in the afternoon yesterday. Since it always proves to be a big production to get anything done around here (and it was a weekend), we went somewhere else to study and decided we would deal with it in the morning. Mom got a friend to store her insulin and liquid meds so she wouldn't need to worry about that.

This morning after Mom took me outside she called facilities and the power in all the outlets in less than ten minutes! The nice man that came and fixed it was the same person who helped us with an elevator problem recently. Mount Holyoke's service dog gives Facilities a paws up for always helping us get access to elevators and now restoring her outlet power so quickly!

Phew! If mom didn't have power and couldn't charge her scooter, I wouldn't get my nice long jogs around campus twice a day! Woooooooofs!

Here is a video of me pushing the buttons to go outside this morning! Please don't place items in front of the buttons around campus or I won't be able to go have fun outside or help Mom move about campus!

Crunch Time

Woofs, the end of the semester is finally here. In only a couple of weeks we will be on break. Good thing, because with crunch time comes a lot of hard hard work. Right now we are writing a paper, as you can see below I'm hard at work! Woofs!
