Retirement date is set.

It's true, my retirement date has been set. I am 7 years old now and Mom says it's important to plan my retirement. Starting January 1st, 2013 Mom will start getting me used to being at home instead of working everyday. The plan is to have me enjoying full retirement by June 1st, 2013. As long as I am happy and healthy this is the plan. I told Mom I don't have to ever retire, but she says I deserve a nice retirement where I can rest and make lots of mischief! (Okay, so the mischief is my idea. Shh.)

Since I'll be retiring that means I'll be getting a littler brother or sister that will be my working successor. Mom has decided not to owner train again (like she did with me). She in the process of applying to several service dog schools for her next service dog. If the organization she decides on can train and place my successor sooner than my retirement date, then it might be bumped up. Mom is going to post soon about my retirement and getting another service dog.

Just thought I'd share the news!

Woofs & Wags,
Holden

  2. It's good to have a plan when it comes to retirement. This process can be very rough on the humans, but I hope you will enjoy retired life.

  3. Holden, you are a dedicated worker and deserve to enjoy your retirement. But don't forget to train up your new brother or sister, so that they will know how to blog too!
